NOW HIRING
counter help (W/ BARISTA OR COFFEE-MAKING EXPERIENCE)
Posted: 02/12/2026
ABOUT THE JOB:
We are hiring for someone to fill a FOH position, with some production assistance in there as well.
The person hired will be expected to work at least 18-22 hours a week and must be able to work weekends. Currently looking to fill Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday shifts, but availability on other days is of course a plus. Additionally, with a busy wedding season approaching, we will not be able to accommodate many weekend or summer time requests off.
The person hired for this position will be expected to greet guests with genuine enthusiasm (but never phony), show courteousness, work well with others, take constructive feedback, keep a clean work environment, and generally be pleasant to be around. We are a small team and like to keep it positive.
Please start by reading the job requirements below. Then, if you would like to apply, send your resume, cover letter and availability with the subject line “FOH POSITION” to info@saltadena.com. In your cover letter, tell me why you are drawn to this work and why you think you’d be an asset to our team. It doesn’t need to be long—short, sweet and to the point works just fine.
Job posting will close on Sunday, February 15th. In-person interviews will be held Tuesday, February 17th. I will try my best to get back to everyone regardless of whether or not you will be getting an interview.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE who:
-Enjoys being around people and is super friendly. It is incredibly important that everyone feels welcome within this space and that we mesh well as a team. If you find yourself easily annoyed by others or disinterested in chatting with customers, this is not the job for you.
-Has some experience using an espresso machine and making coffees.
-Enjoys working with food and understands how to properly scale ingredients (despite this being a FOH position, having at least a little interest in baking helps, and there are assisting tasks during slow times such as making Lil’ Scrappies, scaling ingredients, chopping chocolate, etc.).
-Is very detail-oriented, and maybe even a bit of a perfectionist.
-Is punctual.
-Has a passion or at least strong interest in the world of food/baked goods to the point of enjoying working with and talking about it all day!
-Doesn’t shy away from asking questions or showing humility. While you’re not expected to have every answer, you are expected to reach out and ask for help if you’re unsure of something. This is especially important when it comes to allergen and general ingredient information as well as taking pre-orders.
THE MUSTS:
-Stand for 6-8 hour shifts (with breaks, of course). Anything beyond 8 will only be scheduled with your permission (this rarely happens, if ever).
-Have a good attitude and enjoy making people feel welcome and appreciated at our shop. Able to work well in a team setting.
-Be able to take constructive feedback. We have a high standard here and it’s not personal if you don’t get something right the first time and we point it out.
-Follow proper sanitation, dress code and hygiene guidelines. No long nails or nail polish, hair must be able to be pulled back and out of the way, clean clothes, proper shoes for a kitchen environment, etc.
-Have a food handlers card or be able to get one immediately upon getting hired.
-Be 18 yr old+
-Be able to work weekends.
WAGE:
$19.13 + tips (around $6-8 extra an hour)
