All cakes are priced per serving with an additional stacking fee for tiered cakes that ranges from $5-$25 (dependent on the size of the tiers). Why do it this way? The same amount of love and care goes into a cake whether it’s a single-tiered birthday cake or a three-tiered wedding cake. The only difference is that cakes with multiple tiers require added labor and materials to ensure the cake is properly supported and evenly placed.

We have semi-customizable designs that start at $6.50/serving and go up depending on their level of difficulty and time involved for proper execution. Please visit our DESIGN MENU to take a further look at what we have to offer, including pricing. Custom cakes outside of the Design Menu automatically start at $7.00/serving.

Because our cakes are taller than the traditional standard, we feel that the “wedding” size of serving works well for most types of events, so that is what we quote. This would mean most slices would be about 1” x 2” x 5 1/2”. While we offer all sizes between 4” - 12” and have different cake heights when a particular design calls for it, listed below are the serving amounts for our most popular four-layered cakes:

6” 14 servings

8” 28 servings

10” 42 servings

For larger events such as a wedding, we typically recommend that you account for 75%-80% of your guest count. For smaller events, we suggest sticking closer to 100% of your guest count. If you have any questions about serving amounts, we would be more than happy to help guide you!

Once you have an idea of what you’re looking for, we ask that you fill out the form found on the ORDER/CONTACT page. After we have had a chance to talk and land on a final design, you will be sent an invoice (and contract, when applicable).

For orders totaling $200 and less, full payment will be required immediately in order to book your order. Orders totaling $201 and up have the option of putting down an immediate 50% non-refundable deposit to book their order and paying the remaining 50% 14 days before their event date. Also required to book an order of $201 and greater is a completed and signed Wedding/Event contract.

Please Note: All custom orders must meet a minimum of $75. Orders that will be fulfilled on a weekend date between May 1 - September 30 must meet a minimum of $250 when placed more than two months in advance.

Orders are booked on a first come first served basis, and since all cakes are prepped, baked, filled and decorated by one person, availability can be limited. Although we may be able to accommodate with less, the following lengths of time are what we recommend for placing your order:

Weddings/Larger Events: 6-9 Months

Birthdays/Showers/Smaller Events: 1-2 Months

Our cakes are meant to be enjoyed at room temperature (around 70 degrees F). If your event is held during the warmer summer months, we strongly recommend that you store the cake in a cooler space (such as a refrigerator) until closer to service. In the event that you do have your cake stored in a refrigerator, we suggest taking it out somewhere between 20 minutes to 2 hours prior to service (once we know the temperature and logistics of your event, we will be able to give you a more accurate estimate of time).

Please note: It is never recommended to have your desserts in direct sunlight.

In the event that you have leftovers from your event, any exposed cake should be tightly covered in plastic wrap as to not let air in and dry out the cake.

Delivery is available for orders totaling $200 and above. Orders to be delivered outside of Whatcom and Skagit counties must meet an order minimum of $500. Island deliveries will include additional fees to cover travel costs. Please list your venue in the inquiry form found on the ORDER/CONTACT page in order for us to give you a delivery quote to your specific venue.

Intentionally copying another artist’s original work is simply not done at Saltadena. We are happy to pull inspiration from other sources and encourage you sharing as many photos as you’d like (whether it be other cakes, overall event mood board, color palette, etc.), but it is important to us that we stay within our style of work and areas of strength.

Your well-being is extremely important to us, so while we do our absolute best to avoid cross-contamination, it is important that you know we have an open kitchen and cannot 100% guarantee there will not be trace amounts of allergens in your desserts. Because of this, we do not recommend sourcing desserts from us if you have Celiac Disease or are deathly allergic to nuts, regardless of whether or not the item is made without those particular allergens.
